The PA History Society is raising $72,000 to upgrade the Veterans Memorial Garden located at the Eugene A. Stead, Jr. Center for Physician Assistants in Durham, NC. As shown in the illustrations below, the design concept has six 18 inch diameter bronze seals representing branches of the uniformed services mounted on the “Remembrance Wall.” A $1,000 donation from your organization or your members would allow us to purchase the seal. We are asking your colleagues in the other uniformed services branches to do likewise.
The wall will contain seals for the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Public Health Service Uniformed Services. Three bronze seals will be placed on each side of the center wall with a 24 diameter inch bronze seal for the Department of Veteran Affairs in the middle as illustrated below.
Landscaping and construction is to begin in October 2016. We have raised over $40,000 to date. Your donation, along with that of your uniformed colleagues, will help us honor veteran PAs and PAs in active service. Dr. Reginald Carter is heading up the Veteran Garden project. He would be more than willing to speak with you in more detail, and answer any questions that you might have. His mobile phone number is 1-919-801-3735.
